Encouraging education and awareness.
Education Info Nights are an gathering to spread awareness about the path to post-secondary education. For current post-secondary students, this is an opportunity to bring attention to their own areas of education and allow others to learn from the paths they have taken. For high school students and their parents, this is a chance to start planning for the future and gain insight from those who have gone before them.
On March 11, 2017, we hosted an Education Info Night in partnership with the Somali Canadian Women & Children Association, a non-profit organization that supports Somali families and individuals living in Edmonton. Students from the University of Alberta presented about high school requirements and various university faculties, and answered questions from high school students and their families.
